High School Students Across the Treasure Coast Flex their Math Muscles at Math Olympics Hosted by 91¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ

Students from nine high schools in St. Lucie, Martin, and Indian River counties flexed
their mathematical muscles on Friday, April 8 at the annual Math Olympics hosted by
the 91¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ (91¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ) Mathematics Department at the 91¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ Treasure

Participants from Centennial, Clark Advanced Learning Center, Ft. Pierce Central, Indian River Charter, Lincoln Park Academy, Martin County, South Fork, St. Edwards, and Treasure Coast high schools attended the event to compete individually and as teams.
The competition began in the morning with an individual exam of 40 questions assessing mastery of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. The 10-question team competition followed with extra incentives for students responding first.
Braden Southwick from Martin County High School and Gabriel Gonzalez from Treasure Coast High School tied for first place in the individual competition.
The Martin County High School team comprised of Shane Berhoff, Allison Dobbins, Ella Kate France, and Braden Southwick earned first place in the team competition—with the St. Edwards High School team comprised of Oscar Lindenthal, Ellie MacMullan, Alexa Soderman, and Rosy Yang taking the second-place honors.
Competition winners earned gift bags filled with snacks, candy, puzzles, games, gift cards, and more. In addition to the rigorous competition, participants had the opportunity to network with 91¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ college instructors and tour the 91¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ campus.
