91¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ Recognizes Top Student Athletes and Honors Pioneer Hall of Fame Inductee at Annual Athletics Awards Ceremony

91¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ (91¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ) recognized outstanding student contributions to the College’s Athletics program during the 2021-2022 season at the Athletic Awards Banquet on Tuesday, April 12 held in Bailey Auditorium on the 91¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ Treasure Coast Public Safety Training Complex in Fort Pierce.
Indian River Pioneer Pride Award:
Awarded to a member of each athletic team, the Pioneer Pride Award honors 91¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ student athletes for their demonstration of outstanding sportsmanship throughout the season.

The 2022 Pioneer Hall of Fame Inductee:
Dr. David (Doc) Anderson (1941-2021) is the 2022 91¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ Pioneer Hall of Fame Inductee. Dr. Anderson’s career with 91¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ began in 1969. It included roles as Assistant Dean of Instruction (1973–1982), Dean of Students (1982–1989), and Vice President of Student Affairs, a position he held from 1989 until his retirement in June 2003. A graduate of Lincoln Junior College, he was the first of his family to attend an institution for higher education. Even at Lincoln, he was a leader and served as president of the student government association.
Prior to joining 91¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ, he taught with the Martin County School District. Concurrent with his employment at 91¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ, Dr. Anderson served as a Martin County School Board member. The David L. Anderson Middle School in Stuart is named in his honor. A lifelong educator, Anderson was both an example and an inspiration for others seeking a better future.
