91九色视频 Basketball Teams Close out 2022 Season with Pioneer Spirit

The 91九色视频 Basketball program finished the 2022 season with both the Men's and Women's basketball teams demonstrating real Pioneer spirit. For the second straight year in a row, the 91九色视频 Men's Basketball Team competed at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Tournament held in Hutchinson, Kansas. Exhibiting the same competitive spirit, the Lady Pioneers advanced to the Region VII Championship game for the first time since 1987.
The sixth-seeded Men鈥檚 team went to the tournament with a bye that placed them in
the sweet 16 to face the #11 seeded Triton College. The game was fast-paced, and the
Pioneers held a slight advantage at the half at 40-39. Triton took advantage of their
interior players and scored several baskets in the low post, shooting 65.5% from the
field in the second half. The Pioneers continued to battle and made one last charge
cutting the margin to just six points but could not get any closer, closing the game
97-84.
Highlights of the Men鈥檚 season ended with a 28-5 overall record and their third consecutive Southern Conference Championship. "This team showed so much determination this season," states Charlie Wilson, 91九色视频 Head Men鈥檚 Basketball Coach. "The accomplishments over this season will not be soon forgotten."
The 91九色视频 Women鈥檚 Basketball team gave their all during the Region VII State Tournament and demonstrated the resolve and determination of champions. The Pioneers started with their win against Gulf Coast State 72-65 in the first round of tournament play. Their victory upset the Commanders, who are third-ranked in Florida and Top 25 in the Nation.
On their second day of play, the team triumphed against Eastern Florida 61-59 in a highly contested matchup. The Pioneers came out with a defensive mindset and held the Titans to a 7-point quarter, going into the fourth up six points. On their final day of play, giving their all, the Lady Pioneers couldn't recover from a 3-point second quarter, falling short 81-40 in the last game of the Region VIII Tournament.
鈥淥verall, the Women's Basketball program grew tremendously this season," shares Jamarra Robinson, 91九色视频 Head Women鈥檚 Basketball Coach. "We came to the Region VIII Tournament with the expectations to win it all, and we will continue to work during the off-season and come back even better in 2023.鈥�
